THE STYLE BIBLE

- by Simon Rademan

Eleanor Ford Fashion show director

  1. Shopping motto:  Buying suitable items when I happen across them, knowing they will fit into my wardrobe for future use. Avoids last minute panic buying for special occasions.
  2. Dress etiquette?  Always be on time for appointments.
  3. Wardrobe friend?  Most decidedly that  L.B.N. (Little black number)
  4. Shoe, heel height?  Sensible
  5. Dress mistakes?  Assuming the hostess was honest when she said ‘come casual’.
  6. How many hangers in your wardrobe?  Enough.
  7. Accessory friend?  Dozens of pashminas in every conceivable colour
  8. Best asset?  Not sure.
  9. Lipstick? Colour?  Brownish red or reddish brown, depending on my mood
  10. Handbag?  What’s in it?  Grooming accessories, mobile phone, credit cards, photos of our sons, compulsory driver’s licence (I’m always in the car driving to appointments)
  11. Week-end friend?  We own a game farm, so my weekend style revolves around the khaki/bush theme,
  12. A second hand item?  Louis Vuitton handbag bought from the owner of a cheese restaurant in Gruyere (Switzerland) of all places.
  13. Most expensive item, ever?  Bubble skirted O.T.T. evening creation by a well-known  couturier. Could only be worn twice during one season only, whilst in style.
  14. Cheapest buy?  Chunky beaded necklaces. In all colours.
  15. Best investment?  Large black leather handbag bought in Rome. Comfortably holds all the items, and more,  in 10 above.
  16. Dress secret?  Don’t buy an impulsive something that does not fit into your wardrobe colour scheme. (see 13)
  17. Your husband’s thoughts on your wardrobe?  He is very comfortable with the classical styles I wear,  think of your dress standard:            and is especially delighted if in his favourite colour red.
  18. …and your thoughts on his?  He very sweetly always ask me for my opinion.
  19. Definition of style? Comes from within and should exude confidence which is gained by wearing beautiful garments that are timelessly elegant, well designed, immaculately made, and complement your figure and age.
  20. Describe today’s fashion?   Pleased to see more skirts around, floral frocks for summer and men finding it ‘cool’ to wear silk ties again
