The Style Bible by Simon Rademan

THE STYLE BIBLE

- by Simon Rademan

My kosbaarste kledingstuk is 'n vintage kant rok wat my ouma na my ma-hulle se troue toe gedra het.  Dit is vir my BAIE kosbaar.

English:  It is a great honour to be on this year's list of SA best dressed women for South Africa.

My style is "double" - when I dress for comfort, I am really comfortable, and when I dress smart, I look VERY smart.  Never so that people see the outfit I am wearing before they see me.   My weight is rather constant, I therefor feel best when I am not too thin.  Women often feel they must be slim, but seem to forget they could look their best when they are healthier.  My dress sense is unique and I try not to look like others, nor do I try to copy what others wear.  I buy, and have items made or designed that I can wear again.  I add accessories to get a new look.  My most precious item of clothing is a vintage lace gown that belonged to my grandmother, and that she wore to my mother's wedding.

Advice:

  • People try to impress with clothes and tend to forget their human side are what is important.

  • Do not plan to far ahead what you are going to wear.  Friends often phone to find out what I'll be wearing, before I even know.  This way I arrive with a fresh and unique look.

  • Be comfortable with your figure and your clothes.  Everyone cannot be a size 32.  larger ladies can look equally as beautiful.

  • Don't dress too challenging, or try to be too sexy or sensual.  Clothes should be a mindset.  Play with illusions and don't show everything all the time.

  • I buy what I like and what makes me feel good!
