Papillion 2010
- It's all about
sophistication
Inspiration comes from anywhere… any
time…
This one comes from a dear old lady saying “Wow, that is pure
sophistication!”
I
was in
Triberg,
Germany,
having just purchased a fabulous piece of cloth, and while waiting
for the driver to take us to the next shopping location, I had a
brief conversation with a very kind French lady. She must have been
around 90 years young, and the way she touched the fabric was as if
she was blind… but she was not!
I
looked up from a design I was sketching when she referred to the
image. “My dear child, just now there was nothing, and suddenly
there is something SO beautiful?”
“Papillion!”, she gasped.
“Papillion?” I asked, not knowing what it was.
“Like change, my child, like from a worm, an ugly worm” she said, “…
and when you look again, it has changed into a magical butterfly…
completely transformed into a beautiful, magical, enigmatic,
inspiring
butterfly… the most sophisticated of all insects”
I
knew then that I was in the right place at the right time…
that I will pass on this godly inspiration…
that I will sit by the river long enough to see only the beauty…
that I will continue for many years to come to make women more
beautiful than they already are…
that I will design exquisite gowns for those who care about
sophistication, elegance, fabulousness,…
that the only
constant... is change...
