There were no shortage of drapes, trains and whiter shades of pale, but sadly our own Charlize Theron and even Lupita Nyong'o had to pave the way for Matthew McConaugue's wife and Lady Gaga (yeah! Who knew?) They stunned in style and elegance, which we have not seen in a very long time... Fashion and style trends celebrated the female form at this year's Oscars.. The BAFTA's - The British Academy of Film and Television Arts - 2014
	The British Academy of Film and Television Arts - 2014 for 2013 It was no surprise that Lupita Nyong'o and Angelina Jolie were the two that stood out on the red carpet at the recent BAFTA's. Lupita has colour blocking down to a science (and this might soon become boring), while Angelina opted for a casual tux look. Women wearing men's clothing is no more a fad but a reality. There is a fine section devoted to how the secret how men's clothing could successfully be worn by women in "The Style Bible". ^{This was the fashion at 2014's BAFTA's. There were the odd mistake such as too short hems and wrong accessories, but the British do extremely well in the style department. 	The State of the Nation Address - The official opening of South African Parliament. 2014 - It seems like The Red Carpet has become a colourful, fantasy walk for a polition's favourite Disney character. Like Mr Matin Luther KIng, I too, have a dream. I dream of the day when the rest of the world would see South Africa as a very stylish nation. Like Mr Nelson Mandela, I, too, have an ideal: that we have to wear what is appropriate and "fitting" for the occation. Being known as The Rainbow nation, has nothing to do with wearing any colour of the rainbow that you find, . 	The State of the Nation Address - The official opening of Parliament. 2013 was the year where African fashion "finally" became fully integrated with Western design techniques. (The Style Bible) There still are two major problems with this: Caucation women still experiment with African headdress and it just looks wrong (almost always), while African women often wear "too tight" Chanel suits. I trust that this is a fad and that red carpet participants (invitees) will begin to respect their own figures and own cultures more, in stead of trying too hard to be somebody else.. ^{This was the fashion at last year's State of the Nation Address.
